With a better translation, even LotH is not so bad…
This is a work in progress. First I shall sort out the Psalms and Canticles using the public domain texts of the Coverdale Psalter and the King James Bible. Then the Readings (Also KJV). Next the Antiphons, which will be difficult to source, and the Responds. Then I shall use the Cramner collects and other sources and wrap up the liturgical texts for the four weeks. The hymns are easy, actually, as the traditional Office Hymns already have a source in the Public Domain. After the Ordinary is done, I’ll get cracking on the seasonal propers and finally the sanctoral commons and propers. It’s a long project, but it appeals to my OCD. No one may use it, sure… but I’m ok with that.
I know that the Coverdale and KJV are problematic in some ways for Catholics. That’s not as much an issue for this project as it could be for an “official text”. I’m not publishing a liturgical text, just trying to make something beautiful.
